Nov 12 2018

HONOLULU — Transform Hawai‘i Government’s (THG) Speaker Series continues in November with an exploration of the Hawai‘i State Department of Education’s (HIDOE) efforts to leverage digital platforms and innovative procurement solutions to transform school facilities, enhance transparency, and pursue projects with greater efficiency.

“Transforming Hawai‘i’s School Facilities Through Digital Platforms and Innovative Procurement” will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m., at Impact Hub Honolulu (1050 Queen St., Honolulu, HI 96814). The free talk story event is being presented by THG in partnership with HIDOE.

Featured speakers include HIDOE Assistant Superintendent Dann Carlson, who oversees the Office of School Facilities and Support Services, and Josh S. Jackson, account executive at MKThink.

“Access to data is critical to helping policy-makers and administrators make informed decisions about our school facilities, and the digital solutions being employed by the Hawai‘i Department of Education are making this increasingly possible,” said Christine Sakuda, THG executive director. “THG is pleased to host this presentation about how the state is applying innovation to areas ranging from the ongoing repair and maintenance of school facilities, to cooling classrooms.”

The deadline to register for this event is Nov. 23. Space is limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early. For more information or to reserve a seat, visit transformhawaiigov.org.
